Broad and Beaver Sts., the center of seven exchanges; formed '85 by union of the Mining Stock Exchange (founded '75) and five other boards; from April, '88, to Aug., 'o7, occupied building at Broadway and Exchange Pl.; Aug. 26, '07, moved into new $300,000 home erected on $870,000 site; Clinton & Russell, Architects; trading room, 95 by 82 ft., contains 12 trading posts for railroad and industrial stocks and mining shares; 12,087,301 shares stock and 1,577,239 mining shares dealt in 1913; 850 members; M.E. de Aguero, Pres.

Hudson Terminals - Church St. Cortland to Fulton; twin structures, together the largest offices in the world, 18,150,000 cu. ft.; weighing 200,000 tons, resting on biggest coffer-dam, 400X178 ft., 75 to 98 ft. deep; 22 stories, 275 ft. high; 39 elevators; office room for 20,000 people. Trains from Hudson & Manhattan Co. twin tunnels under Hudson enter station in basement.

The West Street Building - West St., Albany to Cedar; 20 stories; Cass Gilbert, Architect; John Pierce Co., builders; 324 ft. high; erected by West St. Improvement Co., Gen. Howard Carroll, Pres.; built of steel, granite and terra cotta; cost $4,000,000; facing 250 ft. marginal street and Jersey Central and Penna. R.R. ferries. Restaurant top floor. Offices of Lackawanna R.R., Du Pont De Nemours Powder Co., etc.

Singer Building - N.W. cor. Broadway and Liberty St.; 47 stories; 612 ft. high; towers, resting on 36 cassions sunk to bed rock 92 ft. below curb, rising 421 ft. above main buildings, 65 ft. sq., weighing 18,365 tons, braced to withstand wind pressure of 330 tons against any face; 16 Otis traction elevators; entire building, 9 1/2 acres floor space; 5,000 tenants. Built by The Singer Mfg. Co.
