This giant shaft of masonry and steel piercing the sky over New York can be seen fifty miles away on a clear day. In the evening, huge searchlites flash their lights from the towering observation roof of the building. The height of the Empire State Building is an overwhelming 1472 ft. to the tip of the TV tower.
