I was recently honored to be asked to contribute to Karate Boogaloo's other blog, "The New York Nobody Sings." For those of you unfamiliar with the site, it is described as such:
"A site dedicated to songs about New York. As simple as that. The only rules are that the songs must be brilliant and that the blindingly obvious numbers are excluded. The songs may be explicitly about New York or obliquely about the city in some way. There are plenty of great sites dedicated to photos and images about New York. This site is designed to be a musical accompaniment."
My first post for TNYNS was put up just minutes ago and features a tune by Simon and Garfunkel, "A Poem On The Underground Wall," which was recorded live at the Philharmonic Hall at Lincoln Center in New York on January 22, 1967. Click on over to The New York Nobody Sings to check it (and all the other cool New York songs collected there so far) out.
